Veturi Shopping Centre is a meeting place for local residents, combining active urban life with the most diverse shopping opportunities in Southeast Finland. As its name suggests (Veturi, meaning locomotive), the shopping centre is a commercial locomotive in the Kouvola region that respects the city's history as a traditional marketplace and railway city. Veturi has allowed for the commercial appeal of the Kouvola region to be strengthened, reaching areas like Kotka, Lahti and Lappeenranta.

**Reach** 
More than 90,000 residents live in Veturi's local impact area, just half an hour's drive away. There are 500,000 potential customers within an hour's drive. In addition, Kouvola is Finland's 7th largest municipality for cottages, with nearly 11,000 holiday homes. This significantly increases the population of the region during the summer.

**Plenty of tourists**
In addition to permanent and summer residents in the area, tourists also use Veturi's services. Veturi is located by the Kuutostie Road (VT6), one of Finland's busiest highways. Veturi is easily accessible from all directions by car, public transport, cycling and walking. The area around Veturi is the busiest traffic route in the city, with more than 12,000 vehicles travelling by per day.

The shopping centre has 1,800 free parking spaces and 190 spots for bicycles. Veturi is accessible via local routes 1, 2 and 7 and the Onnibus stop is also located in Veturi's yard area.

The total area of Veturi is 48,000m², of which the rentable area is 42,807m².

**Visitors in 2019**
The shopping centre attracted 3.2 million visitors in 2019 with total sales of 126.5 million euros.

The shopping centre is owned by Finnish Mercada Oy and is managed by Colliers International Finland.
